Gah.) Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro were closed off and on. A bunch of rides were closed, nitro, skull mountain, Medusa (opened just as we left at 3ish. It's just extremely sad to see a place that I once viewed as a kick ass theme turn to complete dog poop.We just went today. I want to believe they'll bounce back, until they make major changes I don't think I'll be going back. I cannot see Six Flags continuing operating like this for much longer without facing major losses or having a tragedy happen. If we would've gotten stuck in the line of cars we probably wouldn't have gotten home until 4am. We sat in STAND STILL traffic in the parking lot for 30 minutes before the police had to open the service road and let cars exit a back way. Operating businesses like this is how bad things happen. The fact that the town let's Six Flags have non-existent security practices in this day and age is comical. Groups of people were sneaking in through the exit as they only had one woman guarding the exit. They were still letting people enter the park without going through security. The parked closed at midnight but we managed to walk out at 11:30pm. There was a giant pile of vomit in the stall I used when I first entered. The park is full of garbage and the bathrooms are gross. We spent three hours in lines and three hours getting in and out of the park. What a joke. We made it on two rides in SIX hours in the park. The lines for each attraction will surely make you wish you stayed home. If it's not obnoxious teenagers, aggressive line jumpers, or the overwhelming smell of weed that make you wish you were anywhere else. They obviously did not have the staff to operate at 100% with the angry mob of people they let in.įor a family friendly park they sure do not care what your family may be exposed to. A lot of kiosks and entire sections of the park are closed INCLUDING major roller coasters (Nitro, King Da Ka, etc.) The lack of staff members was concerning. For a park that has raised their prices, you'll be left confused as to where all your money is going because it's not being put into the park. Walking through the park you'll notice how obsolete the design is. If you didn't physically see an argument or fight going on you could certainly the negative vibe in the air. Guest were frustrated and becoming violent. There were only two "security guards" under 20 years old trying to control this large crowd. There were even points were you felt that you might get trampled as mobs of people would hop barriers and rush the entrance all at once. There was no security or crowd/line control. There were maybe FIVE gates open to funnel in a thousand+ people at one time. It took my group of four about 45 minutes to get in the gate with pre-purchased tickets. It might've been Fright Fest, but it felt more like they were trying to save on their energy bill.Īdmission into the park was a whole other disaster. Parking prices have increased 50% in two years at this Six Flags. The first thing we notice once in the park is the lack of lighting. Thankfully we finessed priority parking through a friend or we wouldve had to paid $55 for parking. The town of Jackson should be ashamed for having zero traffic regulation, and letting major roads be backed up for hours. The traffic caused by entering Six Flags is unacceptable. I understand that things won't always be the same as they were back in the day, but at the age of 27 it is sad to see what Great Adventure has let itself become. I'll start by saying that I've been going to Six Flags Great Adventure my entire life. It’s a shame that so many of the rides were closed when I was there, though. The park has definitely seen better days, but when all the rides are open, it is still one of the (if not the) best roller coaster parks in the northeast, and well worth the price of admission. It’s amazing! Glad I got to ride it again.Īdditionally, I was saddened to see the park in a state of somewhat disrepair: paint was chipping off many of the signs, some of the concrete walkways were cracked, and the bathrooms were filthy. If you like roller coasters, this is a must on your bucket list. For those who don’t know, Kingda Ka is the tallest (and I think the fastest) roller coaster in the western hemisphere. Luckily, Kingda Ka was open, and with a very short line. The ones I did get to go on were a blast, but I did leave disappointed about not being able to ride a lot of the roller coasters I really liked. Unfortunately, half of all the major rides were closed (nitro, el toro, Medusa, and Batman were all closed for the entire day). I used to come here all the time when I was in high school, so I was very excited to come back and rediscover all my favorite rides.
